Have you set smart goals?
Hi,Well, most of you are back to work today. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Have you heard the SMART Goal theory? When setting goals, make sure they are:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Realistic
T - Timely
Specific - don't just say 'I want to work from home". Be specific in what you would like to do and how you will get there.
Measurable - make progress toward the goal able to be measured. It produces encouragement and gives you the incentive to keep going when you see progress being made.
Attainable - plan how you will move toward your goal and the time you would like to do it in. It will be hard for you to attain them if they are vague and if you have no idea of what you have to do to achieve them.
Realistic - is this something you are able to do? Are you willing to do it? Be honest with yourself.
Timely - set a timeframe to complete different stages of the goal. For example, you want to start a home business by when? Give a month (even down to the day or week of that month). Then you want to be earning how much by when? Set up specific timetables, as it will inspire you to move ahead.
I wish you all the best in the coming year.
Laurie
