Hi,
I am not really a football fan.  We watched about the first twenty minutes of the Superbowl, then switched it to Mary Tyler Moore reruns (my favorite comedy of all time.)  My son went to a Superbowl party at church, and my daughter had some friends over and they watched it on a big screen in the basement.  As I shared on my blog, the Giants were always my dad's favorite football team.  Now, at 92, he doesn't care about them or football anymore.  But we all decided our pick to win was the Giants, in his honor.  And they won!

Can You Really Make Money from Selling Information?

The answer is absolutely yes!  One of the main reasons people use the internet today is to find information.  And they are looking for information on all kinds of topics.  You can help them out by giving them the information they are looking for and, at the same time, earn money in the process.

Let's say you have a dog that the whole family is crazy about.  However, everytime someone comes to the door or in the house, he barks and growls and makes them feel totally "unwelcome."  Yes, I speak from past experience:-) Now, sometimes you would be happy to have him bark at strangers, but what about friends that come in?  Not so great anymore.  Would you be willing to pay some money for a solution to this problem?  And no, the solution wasn't to get rid of him!  Our dog really is a sweetheart, just too much of a watchdog.  Well, we were willing to pay money for a dog training video which we purchased.  It helped us teach him obedience, although the "watch dog" just had to mellow out of him after he got a little more secure with his new situation.

Solve a Problem

My point is that the key to being able to sell information is to solve someone's problem.  Now, I am not at all advocating taking advantage of someone's heartaches to make a profit.  NOT AT ALL.  There is some information, I believe, that should just be given away to those that need it.  However, there are many everyday problems that would make life easier if they were solved.  Think about some of the following topics:

  • Quick, healthy meals

  • Parenting tips

  • Ideas for great family vacations

  • Help for your pet's skin problems

And so on.  You want to identify a topic that people are willing to spend money on and then find out what people want.  What are their questions on the topic?  Their problems?

I have just released a new report that takes you step-by-step through the process of Selling Information Products.
