Be Ready To Share The Gospel

I wanted to share some sad news with you.  My husband’s brother passed away last week.  He was only 56.  He had found out just a short time before Christmas that he had cancer.  It all progressed very quickly.  As we are saddened by his death, and suffering at the end, we are reminded that we need to take every opportunity to share our faith with people.  You see, his brother grew up in a Christian home, he knew the gospel, but for many, many years, he hardened his heart toward God.  His family continued to pray for him and share with him when they could.  He continued to resist.  In his last hours on earth, the hospital chaplain said that he was reaching upward – we hope toward God.  It’s never too late, so “be ready in season and out of season” to share God’s truth with others.

    Laurie & Dan,
Be ye encouraged, for when they are reaching up, it’s usually to God or an Angel he sends to bring them home. While as a young man, he knew Christ, the joyful experience was this, His Spirit was saved. While later in life he may have not used his physical body life to truly serve or validate his love for Christ, his soul was sealed with a promise then…if it were a true salvation experience. But then, we say, what can separate us from the LOVE of God,,,,nothing is my answer. Ane I truly believe that I was brought back here to Oklahoma to make sure my mother’s salvation experiece was true also. She lost my dad and brother in one month. And her hardened heart asked what she had to do to be with them. She was led through a prayer for her salvation by the minister and me….but then her life didn’t change. She was still her old self….so on her 92 birthday, with Alz’s, and a feeding tube, we shared again, our love and we released her to go on home to be with Dad and family. I said, Mom, all you have to do is cry out to Jesus…just say “JESUS SAVE ME!” which I said about 10 times…and in her little mind of confusion, she stared at me. Finally when I felt I should just pray….I turned to walk to the chair and she screamed at me….JESUS SAVE ME!” It was significantly a response on her own, to which no matter if she was asking Jesus to save her soul, or her body, HE DID! I thanked and praised Him because all bases were covered in that one statement…and I blessed the Lord.
Two days later, on Mother’s Day right after we had been with her about 3 hours…she went peacefully on home with Jesus, her Savior. Never quit witnessing to your loved ones…or anyone for that matter. The price is just too high not to.
Thanks Laurie for sharing. We love you all.
