I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend. We are closing our pool today – a very sad day:-(
Today I want to talk about James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” Let’s look at how this applies to our businesses.
This word says that we deceive ourselves if we think that just by reading and hearing the word (as in going to church or Bible study) we are pleasing God. We please God when we put into practice what His word says.
So, when we are running our businesses, and interacting with other business owners, customers and employees, we need to be acting by what God says in His word.
Some of those thing we are told to do are:
- Watch our mouths and how we speak
- Listen to others
- Treat others with respect and without partiality
- Give and share what we have with others
- Act with integrity
- Asking God for wisdom
There are many others, and as we read God’s word, we need to check ourselves to see if we are LIVING God’s word.
