Another Monday! Isn’t it great that when you are doing something you love you love Mondays!
It’s another “Bible Verses for Business” day. Today, let’s look at I Corinth. 9:7.
“Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock?”
To me, this verse confirms the fact that it is good for us to earn a profit from our business. Sometimes, as Christians, I think people tend to think we should “give away” our product or service – that we shouldn’t charge for what we do. But isn’t it good to know that God actually expects us to earn income from it? This should be a confirmation that our business is just that – a business, although, it can be mixed in with a ministry in some cases.
I am not saying that we should take advantage of people or never give anything away. I think you need to be open to God’s leading in everything. Sometimes He may lead you to give something away to someone who needs it and can’t afford it. I consider that a privilege to be able to help them.
But other times, people can certainly pay you for your product/service and should. And it’s ok with God to charge!

I agree! One of my very last podcasts is on this very topic. I quoted from another scripture: Is the worker worth his wages. I’d love to have you call into the show and share your expertise and experience in this area! It’s next Thursday Dec 3 http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/19736
“Thanks” Laurie for this Tremendous Message on making a profit.
I am having a Bible Study Group of ladies and we are studying the “Proverbs 31 Woman”. It says she plants a vineyard, she makes Tapestries and she buys a Field. She sews Scarlet and she feeds her maidens early …. She works late…She is a business woman and her husband is honored in the gates because of her management of home, earnings and her capabilities are endless.
We are to be like that woman whom God honors. He says Beauty is fleeting but a woman who FEARS the Lord, and Honors HIM, shall be praised. Her children rise up and call her blessed so that means she is also a Mother. Amen!
Thanks for all you and Dan have done to support us in my business @ dt-earth.com which in giving your good service, donations, love and help! God bless you Laurie & Dan …as I praise your names in the Gate!

Hi
Thank you for this verse. It helps me to see that I am on the right track.
Laurie,
Being a Christian entrepreneur means that we recognize that God is our boss and the true owner of our business. The great thing about this is that he has a great profit sharing system in place. He loves for us to share in His profits; after all, we are His children and heirs! Not only does He have a great profit sharing program, but His retirement plan is out of this world – may I dare say, it’s divine.
