How Do You Decide on a Niche?

What if You Can’t Decide on a Niche?  All this “niche” talk is great, but what if you just don’t know which niche to choose?  Here are some suggestions, taken from Marketing for Introverts.  The first one is mine and, in my opinion, is essential.

  • Pray – ask God what He wants you to do.  Consider the desires He has already put in your heart, and what things matter to you.  This is the best place to start.
  • Look at what others are offering in the field, and what they are NOT offering.  What needs are there that aren’t being met?  Determine if they are needs people would pay to have met.
  • What seems like it would be the most rewarding thing for you to do?  What appeals the most to you?
  • Follow your intuition and take a step!

I highly recommend doing your research before getting into a niche, to determine if there is profit potential there.   This is very important, however, don’t “overthink” this.  Sometimes people research for years to find that “perfect” niche, and sometimes, you just need to take a step, after you have done the research.  If you have found a niche that you would enjoy and that seems to have good profit potential, go for it!
