How To Sell Things on Ebay
Aug 18th, 2008 by Laurie Neumann
Hi,
Did you have a nice weekend? August weather is turning out to be nicer than July’s. I”ll take it anytime of the year:-)
Well, we have been talking about starting an online business. We’ve discussed:
- Affiliate Marketing
- Writing an ebook and selling it
- Adsense sites
Today, let’s talk about how to sell things on the ever-popular Ebay. I know you know about this option, but let’s look at some of the big advantages of Ebay.
- It is a worldwide marketplace right there available to you
- You will have no/low advertising costs as the market is already there
- It is a low cost start up - mainly just Ebay fees
- You can test the waters without much risk involved
I see these as BIG benefits. Most people are concerned about investing a chunk of money without knowing what the return will be. You really don’t have that concern with Ebay.
Also, many do not know how to market their business successfully and are concerned about wasting money on advertising that doesn’t bring results. Not with Ebay. The market is there, you just need to offer them something they want.
I think the problem sometimes when someone is getting started with Ebay is that they don’t know what to sell or how to do it consistently when they find something that does sell. If you’re just selling things you picked up at a garage sale or flea market, you are going to have problems as you won’t be able to consistently offer items that sell.
Also, people think it’s too time-consuming to write new descriptions and take new photos of items when they are constantly changing what they sell.
So, to actually start a business on Ebay, you want to have a plan and a reliable source of products to offer on a consistent basis. You need to know how to sell things on Ebay the right way.
Here are some resources I recommend if you are considering doing Ebay as a BUSINESS.
Auction Genius - Sydney Johnson’s course- she has sold on Ebay since its beginning.
Toy Auction Profits - a very affordable way to get started.
One Source - a wholesale/dropship directory of reliable sources for products.
I hope you have a great week!
