Here we are back with another motivation tip. This one is taken from the book “100 Ways To Motivate Yourself” by Steve Chandler.
Plan things. Create instead of react. So many times we can let ourselves get carried away with what comes up at the moment. You can spend an entire day doing this. Then you realize you didn’t really accomplish anything new – you just reacted to what came up. This is not motivating.
Plan your day and stick to your plan unless there really is an emergency. Don’t let yourself get sidetracked. If something comes up that needs attention, jot it down and respond to it when you are done with your planned activitities.
If you’re not careful, your day can get eaten up by reading/answering emails and phone calls. Guard you time. Plan, don’t react.

So true! I like to plan ahead too. I usually try to write my blog posts a week ahead of time. Huge time saver! If only my new computer would get here soon. I’m having a tough time planning much of anything with Methuselah!
Greetings regarding being motivated!
Thank you Laurie for sharing on “Motivation!” Here’s Mine!
I say to try what we do. When you first wake up each morning, and realize your alive, “shout!” Give God praise for that. Start each day with a feeling of gratitude and then let your heart tell you what new things your grateful for. While you pondering these things brush your teeth, take your pills and grab that good cup of coffee and read your 5 minute devotional. Now your moving and in just ten minutes you have gotten a body with a dragging feeling moved into high gear!
Oftentimes, there is a huge thing trying to dominate my thoughts that God or someone has done for me, but honestly, it’s actually in the smaller things where I notice God working in my life the most.
Like today when my Chiropractor and Secretary told me they went to school and graduated together in Valley View, Texas in 1985 just 12 miles north of Sanger. “Wow, I said, I was living in Sanger in 1983-88 while you were there in school.
Now, Did that motivate me? Yes it did! Just to realize God brought me full circle to be near people who were only 12 miles from me for 5 years and we never knew it until today. Now this is Sulphur, OKlahoma and here we three all are.
That put some Zing into my day!
Or the fact that Kristy’s daughter is in cheerleading and they are selling burgers Thursday for her to raise money for the cheer leaders 5 outfits…and they invited us to join them after my chiro appt. and our lunch is on them! Now some may never see that as a blessing…..some say luck…..
But I say, “God is working in people to be a blessing & we have to
recognize them as such because that will propel your day up to a JOY SPEED!. It will be in the “little things” in your businesses like when a friend who calls to say, “HI, I saw your ad and I was so happy to find out it was your ad, it is really good!”
You can listen to compliments like that all day, right? And you can give them to others too…and make their day!
Our lives are for God’s perfecting His will in the earth. Our jobs are to recognize whose we are and start walking in that light. If you knew God would grant you the joy of being that “Special Someone” He was going to use to save a soul, put a joy in someones heart or a grin added to an elderly persons face today….would you feel like getting up in the morning with a little more enthusiasm and be a little more excited about your day?
Sure you would….I am!
Well, when you jot down you list of Do’s and Don’t's for tomorrow, get excited and add two empty slots for God’s plans. Then when you designate your time for His plans, that ought to get you so excited about seeing what He does in those time slots, you will just rush to get to that time of day when you can see HIM work out His wonders before you eyes. It will revolutionize your days and bring expectancy into your life!
That my friend will Motivate YOU! God is NOT boring!
One thing for sure…when you give God two slots in each day, you can bet two things are definately going to happen.
1) ~Your days are gonna change and He won’t let you down. HE will show up!
2) ~ Keep a pad and pencil with you. You might even write a book!
Wow Joyce – there is nothing I can add to that! That is such a beautiful way to get motivated.
Amen and Amen!
