Ok, so I then started my current business at Christian Home Business Connection. How did this all come about?
Well, after my bookstore was shut down, I started praying and asking God about what to do next. While I was running my bookstore, I visited other work at home/home business sites, and always thought that would be fun to do!
As I thought back to my experience talking with another homeschooling mom about what kinds of businesses we could start, I began to realize there were probably a lot of other people out there with the desire to start a home business, but didn’t know what to start or how to do it.
That was MY big problem – not knowing what I could do from home. I also knew there were many scams out there who were glad to take your money with no return on it. So, I began to research different kinds of home businesses and specific opportunities that were offered. I wanted to offer only ones that were legitimate and doable to most people.
My husband and I worked on developing a website (he’s the technical part). We had a lot of fun doing it. Yes, there were also frustrations, but he had already created a website for me for my bookstore, so he had some experience with it. It was fun working on it together.
While I ran my bookstore, I took a free course on search engine optimization from a lady named “Cricket.” I went through her course several times to really get it down. Now, I can apply those same principles I learned to any website I have. It was WELL WORTH my time.
