Need Some More Motivation?
May 4th, 2009 by Laurie Neumann
Each Monday, we have been talking about ways to stay motivated, which can be an issue for those of us who work from home on our own.
Today, I want to suggest to you a way that helps me. Listen to dvd’s, read books and hang around with people that motivate you. I am not talking about motivational speakers (which might be good too) but rather people who are actually being successful in what they do. I like to listen to “how to” recordings on things that I a need help with. Maybe how to get more traffic, etc. But then the key is to ACT on what you learn.
Also – there are people who will drain your motivation and people who will increase it. Choose the latter whenever possible. You need people who support you in what you do and will encourage you to keep moving forward.
Good points! It’s hard staying excited about what you do when you have only you with whom to be excited! LOL No one to share it with and then if you are listening to things that drain you, it’s even worse. I love to listen to Christian music as I write. Unfortunately my computer, Methuselah, is not capable of accommodating both! We should be getting my new computer this week and I can’t wait to listen to my favorite Christian station while I work again!
Great reminder, Laurie! I belong to a great group of business professionals, and we meet every Monday morning online. My week wouldn’t start on such a good start without these ladies. I count on this group to get my week going.
Catherine and JoJo,
Thank you both for your comments. I know how important it is to have a group of like-minded women to support you. I am happy we have all found that in our group.
