I think I may have already mentioned today’s free resource, but I felt it was worth repeating because of my experience this week.
Open Office (openoffice.org) is a completely free program that allows you to create documents (like you would in Word) and then convert them to a pdf file.
I have always used Adobe Acrobat for my pdf converter. Until this week when I realized it didn’t work with Windows 7. I had to get a new computer about a month or so ago, and it came with Windows 7. I hadn’t had the cause to create a pdf file before this week, and I was so disappointed (and frustrated!) when I found I couldn’t use Adobe anymore.
I hunted for a free version that would allow me to do this, but the ones I tried didn’t allow for clickable links in the document. Since I was updating my home business guide and needed to covert it to pdf format, this wouldn’t do because there are tons of links in it.
So, my husband started searching for an upgrade to my Adobe Acrobat, which we found there is one but it costs $99.
We prayed (when all else fails? Should have been our first choice of action) and I read a post about Open Office being able to act as a Word processer and pdf converter. I tried it and it worked and let me put clickable links in!
So, I thought I would share about Open Office again in case you have the same problem I did or are just in need of some free help.

I liked it too, though I got a new computer and didn’t have the link so I just converted back to Word which is SOOOO hard to use. Open office has a way to convert to WOrd doesn’t it?

I’m not sure if you’d say it converts to Word. I know you can bring a Word document into Open Office and I believe you can use it just like you would Word.
