Phil Vischer Interview

I wanted to give you a link to an interview I read with Phil Vischer, the founder of Veggie Tales.

As you know, Veggie Tales was huge among kids. So, it really surprised me to find out that the founder had to file bankruptcy.

Phil had a goal to add something positive to Saturday morning cartoons and set out to create a show that would have a good impact on kids. He achieved that goal, but then, ended up watching it all crumble.

This story reminds us of how important it is to walk with God, not to get in front of Him, and to not let anything else take precedence over our relationship with Him.

You can read the interview at the link below. It’s on page 16.

  1. Doug Daut says:

Thanks Laurie for sharing this link and the words to live by that go with it. I had to sit back in my chair and give careful consideration as to whether or not my relationship with Jesus is such that I feel where I am at in five, ten, or twenty years is none of my business? Am I doing today things that bring me closer to God and not dwelling on future “what ifs”? Certainly something to discuss with God daily. The other quote that is now engraved in my memory, “the mind needs healing, and only the presence of God can restore its proper function.” Continuous cerebral restoration…how great God is!

  2. Laurie Neumann says:

    Hi Doug,

What an amazing quote you shared. I love that!

Yes, the interview was one that I think makes us all take a step back and evaluate our relationship with God. I appreciate your comment.

  3. JoJo Tabares says:

It’s something I have to remind myself of all the time. I often think if one is good, more is better. If God leads me to “A” then I should take the lead and travel to “Z.” God may just want me to stop at “A.”

  4. Laurie Neumann says:

    JoJo,

Yes, I agree. Sometimes we “assume” we know what God wants, but we may be wrong. We need to let Him always lead.
