What is the difference between Virtual Assistant and a Secretary? You need to trust each other.Treat your assistant well.
In many cases, there is not much difference at all. A VA might be taking/making phone calls, answering emails, setting up meetings, typing, etc. However, in other cases, a VA may design the website and maintain it or other more specialized tasks that a secretary may not be called on to do.
When you start your own VA business, you get to decide what skills you want to offer, and look for clients who need those skills. You are not required, for example, to know web design, but can offer the skills you have while working on new ones to learn at the same time.
You could like at a VA as a “home based secretary.”
I totally agree that this should be a respectful relationship. The VA is no less important than the business owner – they are just different positions.
