What is Affiliate Marketing?

Hope you had a great weekend. My husband and I rented a canoe on Saturday and canoed on a bay in our area.
I wanted to start a series about ways you can work from home using your computer.
Today, let’s talk about Affiliate Marketing. What is Affiliate Marketing? It is the process of selling other peoples products., whether they are physical products or digital, and earning a commission each time you make a sale.
As with anything, you want to choose a “niche” and focus the affiliate products you choose around that niche. For example, if you love pets, specifically dogs, you can look for affiliate products like dog toys, clothes, or food. Or dog training videos/books. Or doggie beds and blankets.
You would then build a blog or website centered on information for dog owners. Give them great information and then promote your affiliate products. It’s a good idea to start an email list that will allow you to keep in touch with people who visit your site and continue to market to them. Send them out some good tips and information in each email (it doesn’t have to be long) and then you can promote one of your affiliate products.
It’s always a good idea to buy each product you’re promoting and use it yourself. That way, you can give a personal testimony to its usefulness.
It’s important to treat affiliate products just like your own products, and promote only good quality ones. And do PROMOTE. You have to be consistent at this.
Affiliate marketing is a low cost way to get started in an internet business. And you don’t even have to have your own product to sell. The down side is that you’ll only earn a % of the sale price, but for the person who doesn’t have a product, it’s a quick way to get started.
