Well, happy Monday! Now that the series on Marketing (getting business to come to you) is done, what’s next?
I am going to be starting a couple of things. For the next several weeks, we will have “Motivation Monday.” I think it can be easy to become discouraged when we don’t see things going as we had hoped. So I’d like to write a short post each Monday, with a tip for staying motivated. I will be specifically how to use it in your business, but you can apply them to other areas of your life as well.
Then, we’ll have “Freebie Friday” where I’ll share with you a resource that is free (or close to free) that you can use in your business.
Wednesdays will be kept open for interviews and other relevant posts.
I’m excited to bring this to you! So, let’s get started with a tip for Motivation Monday.
Write down your goals. Why (the deeper reason) did you start your business, or do you want to start a home based business? The obvious one may be to make money, quit your current job, etc. But WHY do you want to make more money? To take some stress off your marriage or family, to be able to take family vacations and build family closeness, to be able to give to a charity/cause that you truly believe in?
Why do you want to quit your job? To have more time with your kids (time you can’t get back), to be more accessible to an aging parent, etc.? These are the deeper reasons.
Take some time to really give this some thought, write it down, and put it where you can see it. It’s the deeper “real” reasons that will keep you going in the challenging times.

I am excited about your Motivation Mondays and Freebie Fridays! Thanks so much for being willing to give this information away to help us. What a blessing!
Part of my motivation to do my business is to prepare the Christian community to stand up and speak out effectively in grace for the things of God!
JoJo,
Thanks for your comment. I am excited too!
I know you are passionate about preparing others to speak up for the things of God, and what a needed and worthwhile service to provide.
Blessings,
Laurie
The mantra of today seems to be –getting back to basics. And taking that time to revisit that “deeper” reason- the purpose, can help you stay motivated. Looking forward to future posts on this subject!
Joan,
I agree that getting back to basics is so important and relevant to what the whole country is going through today. We need to keep our focus on what is really important to us.
Thanks for your comment.
