  • How to appeal to emotions and which emotions trigger a response.
     

  • You'll learn about writing headlines and the average length of one (that was a surprise to me.)
     

  • How to connect with your readers to form a relationship with them.
     

  • How to sell your product by describing the benefits - you have to tell your reader what's in it for them.
     

  • Each part of the sales letter is dissected and studied.  You are taught how to write each part.

A Concern You Should Know About

 

I need to say something here.  Because I am reviewing this program from a Christian viewpoint, there is something in the course I was not pleased with.   There is a section of the course entitled "The Architecture of Romance" (no, I'm not against romance!)  They are relating the sales process to a romance, of starting out, getting your reader to know and trust you, etc.  This is fine. They also use the framework of a house to explain the process.  The goal is stated as creating a permanent relationship with a lady.  You get her to come into the house, you lead her through the rooms, to eventually end up in the bedroom.  I think this was in poor taste and should not have been portrayed in this way.

 

I say this so that you will know what to expect.  I wrote and expressed my feelings to the company, and they are looking into what it would take to change this.  I give them a lot of credit for considering this.

 

That said, the course is EXCELLENT for training you to become a copywriter.  I considered not offering this course because of the concern mentioned above, but if you can get past this point, I know you will learn SO much from it.  In every other way, it is such an excellent course, especially for the money.  There are courses out there in copywriting that will cost you a small fortune.  This course is reasonably priced, considering all you will learn and the potential for earning a great income.

 

The program even covers how to start your own Direct Response Marketing business.  This is covered because you can earn more by writing in your own business and selling your own products rather than by writing for someone else.

 

Included in the course is a book entitled "Hall of Fame - Great Selling Ideas from 50 Super-Successful Direct Mail Letters and Direct Response Ads."  This is a collection of some of the top selling letters that have been written.
