Want to be a Small Business Entrepreneur of a Home Based Business?

Do you have a burning desire to be a small business entrepreneur of your own home based business?

Today more and more people are choosing to be entrepreneurs and starting a home based business is normally much less risky than a brick and mortar business.

As an entrepreneur of my own home business, I have observed some qualities that are very important to possess.

• self-motivation - you won't have a boss telling you what to do any longer, so it is imperative you can work on your own and keep yourself motivated

• willing to take "some" risk - not everything will be laid out for you.  You will need to take steps when you are unsure of what the outcome will be.

• willing to invest some money - it doesn't have to be a huge amount, but there will be some initial investment to make.

• desire to keep learning - it is important to keep learning and growing with the current market.

• integrity - without it, you will not last in business long.

• perseverance - there will be times when you are tempted to become discouraged because your business is not going as you would like.  You have to be able to persevere through those times and stay on target with your goal.

• good communication skills - written and verbal

• ability to learn from mistakes and not let them hinder you from moving forward.

These are the characteristics I have found to be crucial in becoming and persisting as an entrepreneur of a home business.  These make the difference between someone who just wants to "give it a try" and someone who succeeds at it.
