HOW TO WRITE A NEWSLETTER
If you have a business, you need to have a newsletter (or ezine, as it is sometimes called.) The most common way to do this is electronically, which people can receive by email and print off, if they choose. Of course, you can vary this and do a hard copy newsletter if your business is mainly local.
You need to have a way for people to subscribe to your newsletter, commonly referred to as "opt-in." This way, if people have signed up for it, it reduces the risk of spam complaints.
Include a sign up form on your website or sales page that asks people for their name and email address.
Why Have a Newsletter?
Having a newsletter is a great way to keep in touch with your market and remind them of your product or service.
Sending out a newsletter regularly will begin to position you as an expert to your subscribers, as long as you are giving them good, reliable information and making recommendations to quality products or services.
How to Write a Newsletter - what to include
When putting together your newsletter, make sure you are providing your subscribers with good information, and not just giving them a sales pitch. People will get tired of that very quickly and unsubscribe.
It's good to make your newsletter interactive by providing surveys, contests and polls. People like to feel a part of things.
You can share product reviews and links to other informative sites for your subscribers to enjoy.
Besides promoting your products or services and making recommendations to affiliate products, sharing relevant information of what is current in your market, and links to other informative sites, you will want to provide good content, such as articles. You can write these articles yourself, or find some good private label rights articles to use. These are articles you purchase, and can sign your own name to them. You are free to change them or add to them, which, is a good idea to do, since there are others out there who will be purchasing the same articles. Find a provider of plr articles that limits their distribution.
How do I get People to Subscribe?
To attract people to your newsletter list, it is a good idea to give away something for free when they sign up, such as an ebook, ecourse, or free report. It can be your own product, or someone else's that you have permission to give away.
Put a link to your privacy policy on your newsletter sign up page, so people can be assured their information will not be shared with anyone else.
Once you have your newsletter set up, be sure to submit your information to ezine (newsletter) directories. Just do a search on Google for them.
A personal recommendation: Sign up for a service that will manage your subscriber sign ups and newsletter mailings. I tried to do this myself in the beginning, and as your list grows, it gets unmanageable.
It's worth the money to have it all automated by a reliable company. I highly recommend Aweber . They are easy to use, have knowledgeable phone support and reasonable fees.
