Happy New Year!
Hi,
I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year! What do you do on New Year's Eve? Leave a comment and let me know.
We will be getting together with friends - we have spent about the last fifteen New Year's Eves with them. We met them at our previous church, and they are wonderful people. We have a glass a sparkling grape juice at midnight, watch the ball drop and then say goodbye. A nice tradition.
I hope this is a great year for you, and that you will move closer to the lifestyle you want to live.
I wanted to let you know that I have been working on some additions to my Home Business Resource Guide, and will be releasing them very soon. I have created a step by step guide to take you through choosing a home based business.
Be on the lookout for it! I'll let you know when it's been released.
Happy 2008!

How do you feel when you tell someone you run a home business?
Hi,
I was just reading a post on technorati.com from a man who owns a small business. He was addressing the issue of som people minding being called a small business.
Personally, I have never minded that I do a home business. How many employees do I have? Just me for now. It may get to the point someday that I will hire someone to help me, but right now, I am the employer and employee. I love it. I love the flexibility and freedom it brings. I love doing something that I believe in.
Maybe it's from my years of staying home with my kids when they were young, then homeschooling them as they got a little older. I"ve always been "different" than the rest of my family and most of the world. I guess you get used to it.
But I certainly do not apologize or feel bad about having a small home business. Instead, I realize I am blessed to be able to do what I do.
What about you? How do you feel about having a small home business? Leave me a comment and let me know.
If you don't have a business yet, but would like to, I offer consulting to help you choose a home business that's right for you and help getting started. Visit

A business with a continual new market
Well, another Friday. We're having a garage sale tomorrow and the weather is supposed to be beautiful. You never know at this time of year. Our neighbor is moving and wants to get rid of some of her stuff, so a few of us are going to join her - the more, the merrier, as they say.
I wanted to talk to you today about starting a resume writing business. This is a great business for a few reasons:
- Very low start up costs
- There is a continually new market who needs a resume written
- You get to be your own boss and set your own prices (of course, make sure you're competitive).
This is a business that you can easily operate out of a small corner of your home. If you have good typing skills, you may want to look into this as a possible home based business for you.
Check out the start up guide written by Teena Rose. It will give you a great start to your own resume writing business. Click on the link below to read about it.

A Webinar You Won't Want to Miss
Hi,
Well, another week is almost done. They go so fast. Does that mean I'm getting old????
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about an event I think you'll find very helpful. Stephen Beck, of Family Ebiz, is doing a webinar next Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 9pm eastern (6pm pacific). At a webinar, you can watch it on your computer and hear him talking. They are the current popular way of doing teleseminars, and they really are a great way to learn.
Steve will be discussing the 7 secrets to creating your own information product and will be revealing the 3 biggest trends for online family businesses in the next 12 months.
From Steve Beck:
"Plus not only will you be able to hear me, but you'll also SEE and WATCH it happening in real time on your computer screen, complete with real examples and case studies! (And it doesn't matter what connection speed you have or even if you have a PC or
Mac.)
Properly applied, the strategies revealed during this event will allow you to experience more freedom and income than you have ever dreamed possible!"
There are 500 spots for this event. So there's a very good chance this will be completely SOLD OUT. So don't delay in signing up.
Oh - I almost forgot.
This event is FREE!!! Claim your spot here while you can:
http://www.FastInfoProducts.comAfter you sign up, you will be emailed the link where you can watch the webinar. Enjoy!! I plan to be there too.
Have a great weekend.

Back from a few days away
Hi,
Well, we had a few days break last week and went up to Old Forge in the Adirondacks and Lake Placid. We have been going there for years and Old Forge is my kid's favorite spot in the world of course, their exposure has been limited:-)
So - getting back to business. There is a resource that I feel is definitely worth the money. It is List and Traffic membership site - a site of Jimmy D. Brown.
Jimmy is a Christian, who makes a very successful living on the internet. He shares so much information - it's hard for me to take it all in. But I want to learn from someone who is actually successful and building their business based on biblical principles.
Take a look at what is included in your memebership at

What Being a WAHM Means to Me
Hi,
I ran across this blog entry yesterday, talking about being a wahm. They are encouraging others to write about it in their blogs and submit a link to their blog to them. On August 2, they will be posting a link to everyone's blog who contacted them. It's called a Blog Carnival.
So, I thought, why not? So, what does being a WAHM mean to me?
It means I am not in a 9 to 5 job situation, having to be somewhere at a certain time and be there all day.
It means that I have been able to be there for my kids, especially my daughter, who has needed me beyond the school years, due to some struggles she has had.
It means I can run out and visit my dad, who is 92, when he's having a bad day, or just to say hi.
It means I have extra money to give to others who need it.
It means I am blessed, to have a business to work at that I love.
Blessings,
Laurie

Start a Diaper Cake Business
I ran across this business the other day. Maybe you have heard of it, but I thought it was such a cute idea!
I spoke with Barb Ireland on the phone, the owner of Make a Diaper Cake website. She was very helpful and loves to work with people to help them with their businesses. I believe that is solely what she does now - training others to start this type of business. You can tell by talking to her that she loves what she does.
If starting a diaper cake business interests you, she has different options to help you get started. You can take a lifetime membership to her site where she has loads of information for only $44.99 or you can purchase an ebook that will give you the basics.
Take a look at this unique business and see if it is something you would enjoy doing. Visit

It's Monday
Hi,
Hope you had a good weekend.
We had a baptismal service at church yesterday and 14 people got baptized. It's always amazing to hear the testimonies and how God is workiing in people's lives. It's wonderful to hear.
Well, it's Monday morning - do you like Mondays? I never used to, but now I love them. I look forward to a new week of working on my business. It makes all the difference to be working at something you really enjoy and feel it has a purpose.
I would love to hear what you do - do you have a home business? Are you currently looking for one? Do you work outside the home? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Happy July 4th
Well, it finally happened. My husband has been trying to move my blog from blogger to my site and it finally worked! Actually, we were trying other ways first that didn't work, and then found out you could actually have a blogger.com blog right on your site.
My goal for this blog is to be an interactive one. I want you to get to know me better, and I'd love to get to know you. Please post comments or questions regularly.
I want this blog to be helpful to those who are looking for a home business as well as those who already have one and are looking for tips, resources, etc.
Happy 4th of July!
Until next time,
Laurie
