Looking for More Sales Leads?
Want a tip? Look to your customers for new sales leads. If you start doing this, you will spend less on advertising while still increasing your profits.
This is more commonly referred to as “word of mouth” or referrals. If you have a happy customer, they will most likely refer you and your product/service to others without even being asked to. This is powerful.
Think about it. It is said that a person has to see an ad several times before they will take action. This means running the ad regularly, which can cost you quite a bit of money. However, if someone they know and trust refers them to something, they are much more likely to act on it quicker. A personal testimony (referral) is worth its weight in gold.
Make Your Customers Happy
How do you get your customers to send you sales leads or referrals? By giving them great customer service and quality products (or services.) You just need to set your standards high for your business, and word will get out.
Some business owners choose to implement a rewards program to help stimulate their customers into telling their friends and family about them. For example, a business owner may send each of their customers a coupon for 25% off one item, as well as a rebate slip for the same amount.
In order to use the rebate slip, the customer would need to give one of the coupons to a friend, and once the friend uses that coupon, the original customer could use their rebate slip.
In order to keep track of this, the coupons and rebates could be printed in different colors. This will make it easier to sort through them as they come in. On the back of both the rebate and coupon could be a place for the coupon user’s name. When a rebate slip comes in, the business owner can look through the stack of coupons and see if a new customer was actually referred by that original customer
If you feel that this process is too time consuming, at least ask your current customers for referrals. Many times, if they are happy with your service, they will be more than happy to spread the word without any kind of reward. Haven’t we all done the same thing when we have found a product or service that made a difference?
